Silver Medal for Germany
Germany’s Para-Dressur team won silver at the 2026 World Championships in Aachen on 22 August 2026. The team, consisting of Heidemarie Dresing, Regine Mispelkamp, Helen Brandt and Anna-Lena Niehues, scored 229.875 percent points, just behind the USA. The Netherlands took bronze with 227.639 percent points.
Best Individual Results
Heidemarie Dresing already won gold in the individual event, achieving 143 percent with her horse Poesie 143 and 77.733 percent. Anna-Lena Niehues followed with Vive l’Amour (76.405 percent) and Regine Mispelkamp with Highlander Delight (75.737 percent). Helen Brandt’s result with Vulkan Vegas (73.297 percent) was not counted as a team score.
Interview with Anna-Lena Niehues
"I was able to score good points at the end," Niehues said in a WDR interview after the final. "I have four great riders here," Bundestrainerin Silke Fütterer-Sommer confirmed. "I knew exactly that the girls would push hard again today."
USA Take Gold
The USA secured gold with a clear margin. Kate Shoemaker impressed with Vianne and 80.460 percent. Germany held second place ahead of the Netherlands, who won bronze with 227.639 percent points.
Additional Medals
In addition to Dresing’s team gold, Niehues and Mispelkamp earned further medals. In the freestyle competitions on Sunday, the German pairs again had good chances for a podium finish.
