The German Football Association (DFB) is intensively reviewing a bid for the 2042 FIFA World Cup. Eintracht Frankfurt's board member Axel Hellmann is confident that Germany has very good chances of hosting a successful campaign.

Hellmann referred to the 2006 Home World Cup. 'Germany was not economically well off back then,' said Hellmann. 'The perception of Germany changed completely in 2006: from 'The Germans are too serious' to 'Germany is a great country with great hospitality.' This was 'the best marketing campaign' we've ever conducted.' And: 'The doors we opened on the world market were enormous.'
