Axel Hellmann, the CEO of Eintracht Frankfurt and a member of the DFB board, has confirmed that Germany may be looking at the possibility of bidding for the World Cup in either 2038 or 2042. He is aware of the need to provide a comprehensive infrastructure, with transport networks and accommodation facilities being needed for this grand event.
"We would love to," said Hellmann to The Athletic. "Bernd Neuendorf - the DFB president- begins with an inquiry initiative for 2042, maybe also in 2038." Although these details are unavailable yet, potential FIFA rules may allow it.
